Filled with Love Valentine

Here's another Valentine's Day card that I made. This one was based on Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 95. Like the last two cards, I used the Patterns Designer Series Paper. For this card, I used a paper pack that contained only Pretty in Pink and Real Red. It was something that was available through Valentine's Day only, but the same colors can be found in the regular stacks. I just LOVE these paper stacks! If you don't own them yet, you need to fix that. Unlike the retired Patterns DSP Packs, the new ones have only 4 patterns rather than 12. Also, they are available in 40 sheet pads with 10 colors in each (5 in the In Color stack) instead of 12 sheet packages with only one color. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I didn't like the old version, it's just that most of the time, I found myself using either the dots or the stripes, so I have lots of leftovers in the other patterns. With the new paper stacks, there are 4 sheets of each color; 2 of the sheets have the stripes on one side and 2 of them have the dots on one side. Do you think Stampin' Up! was reading my mind? Haha! Probably not, but it works for me. You can't see it in the photo, but I used the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce a pattern in the lower right corner, but it really didn't show up well with the patterned paper and it's covered by my watermark. Oh well. Thanks for visiting!

Mojo Valentine

This Valentine's Day card is based on Mojo Monday Sketch 174. I tweaked it a little by making my card a square because I needed the extra width to fit everything on it. To make the greeting, I cut a piece of cardstock the same size as the Word Window Punch (3/8 of an inch I believe) and then slid it into the Word Window Punch with one end of it sticking up out of the punch to punch one end of it. Does that make sense? Perhaps I'll try to post a photo later showing you what I mean. Thanks for visiting!

I'm baaaack!

Wow! It probably seems as though I've been gone forever. To be honest, it kind of feels that way to me. I had to take some time off last summer and once I did, I had a difficult time getting things moving again. The good news is that I found my stamping mojo and I've been hard at work making lots of new projects which I'll be sharing over the next few weeks.

Here is the first of many projects that I have to share...

I needed a little help to get myself going again, so I used lots of card sketch challenges to create my cards. This card was based on Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 83. I realize that it's a little late for Valentine's Day cards, but I'll be sharing a few that I made anyway, and if they inspire you, you can always use them for next year. I'm looking forward to sharing more projects with you soon. Thanks for visiting!

Sweetheart Treats

This is a project that I didn't get around to posting last month. It's a little tote that holds four bottles of candy. Although I put candy in these bottles, they could also be filled with cocoa mix, mini marshmallows & choclate chips, or things like bath salts, lotion & bath beads. They could be used for just about anything. Thanks for visiting!

Simple Valentine

I received a newsletter about a month or so ago with a card in it that was very similar to this but done with non-Stampin' Up! products. When I saw it, I immediately thought of the Sending Love Notes Kisses and how I could make virtually the same card using Stampin' Up! stamp sets and supplies. This is the result. I made it with my stamp club last month and they all seemed to like it, so I guess it was a success. Thanks for visiting!

LOVE & Kisses

Happy Monday! This card was for a team challenge to use the Hugs and/or Kisses notes on a project. I have always liked projects that feature LOVE or NOEL with the letters in this kind of arrangement, but I had never made one. I thought this was a good time to give it a try, and I'm happy with the result. There is definitely a "trick" to getting the cardstock sizes and the corners just right when working with the coordinating corner and border punches. I'm still playing around with sizes, but once I get some together I'll post the information. Thanks for visiting!

Loads of Love Valentine SSSC52

It's Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge from Karen Giron. I enjoy doing these; they get my creative juices flowing. I decided to do my card in a square format; I think I've mentioned before that I am partial to square cards for some reason. Although it has pink, it's not done in the traditional red and pink Valentine's Day color scheme because I wanted it to be a bit different. The truck was stamped onto two pieces of paper and the window and tires were cut off the top layer to give it some depth. Thanks for visiting!

With All My Heart

Here is the other Valentine card that I did using the same layout as the cupcake card last Monday. I had wanted to post it yesterday, but I didn't get around to it as I was sucked into a book that I received for Christmas and I just HAD to finish it. This is another card that mixes old with new and I created the background paper the same way that I did for the Wandering Words Christmas card here. Oh, in case anyone is wondering, the book I was reading was The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I love his books.

Happy New Year!

Wow! I can't believe it's January 1st! Last year went by so quickly. Does anyone else feel the same? Now that the last two holidays are over, I'm getting ready for the next one. I spent today making some Valentine's Day projects. I really liked the layout that I used for the cupcake card that I did on Monday, so I used the same layout to create two more cards today. I'm only posting one for now though and I'll post the other one later. This card mixes a little old with a little new. The heart punch and stamp set are from last year (but still in the current catalog) and the border punch, Specialty Paper and Satin Ribbon are from the Occasions Mini Catalog. If you didn't receive your Occasions and Sale-a-bration mini catalogs don't worry, they're on their way. Even though you can't order items from the Occasions mini or earn anything from the Sale-a-bration mini until January 5th, they can be seen on my website so make sure you take a peek. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy New Year!

New Toys!

Winter has finally arrived here in New England. It began snowing last night and the forecast is calling for it to continue throughout the day today. The kids are excited because it's the first "Snow Day" of the year (I have to say, I'm pretty excited also).

Christmas came early for me yesterday, when Mr. Brown delivered some new Stampin' Up! goodies! I ordered some basic supplies, but I ordered some of the products from the new Occasions Mini Catalog as well. There are so many great new products in this mini catalog and I can't wait to share them with you!

One of the mini catalog items is a Mini Milk Carton Die. I had to try it out before I used anything else, so I made this Valentine's Day milk Carton. I also used a new stamp set, one of the new punches, and some new Specialty Designer Series Paper to make this project. Isn't it cute!? It's tiny and I love it. The bottom photo with the candy gives you an idea of its size. It can be filled with almost anything and decorated for any occasion.

The best part is...
the recipient doesn't have to destroy the milk carton to get to the treat inside!

Before securing the box, I simply cut it in two and the band that goes around the box keeps the top in place.
