Punchy Little Boat

I had seen this card ages ago and I thought it was such a cute card (I still do!). I really liked it, however, I didn't have the stamp set, so I wanted to create the boat using punches instead. I scored a line near the top of the boat hull using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool ~ I don't know why, I just thought it needed a little something extra. I also sponged the card stock and Designer Series Paper edges. The card base and the white card stock rectangle weren't sponged, but the rest of the paper was sponged to add some depth to the project. Thanks for visiting!

Look Whoo's 2!

I needed some digital project samples around the same time that a friend of mine was planning a party for her two year old and that became the inspiration for this party invitation. I love the pink, brown, and green color scheme and the little owl on the tree branch is soooo cute! If you don't yet own My Digital Studio, you need to get it...now. There are so many projects that can be done using this digital designing software; the possibilities are virtually limitless. I have some other My Digital Studio projects that I'll be posting soon. Mmmm, Strawberry Jam!

I don't know about you, but I LOVE strawberry jam! While it's not my favorite flavor, it's pretty high on the list. I wanted a fun way to package some of my homemade strawberry jam for gifts and this was what I chose. Initially I thought that I wanted to make a box for the jar, but in the end I decided that I liked the simplicity of this option. With the exception of the stem, this strawberry was made using a variety of punches (the stem was just freehand cutting). Before putting the pieces together, I ran the "strawberry" through my Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder then colored the dots with a white gel pen to make the seeds. If you like making strawberry jam, I hope this gives you an idea for your next batch. Thanks for visiting!

Ghostly Treat Box

Fall is definitely in the air around here! Since today is October 1st I thought I should start posting some Halloween projects. This project is essentially the same as this Easter treat box that I did a while ago. I simply changed the colors and added this little ghost and pumpkin. I don't know if he looks confused, scared, or what, but I do like him. I hope that you do as well. Thanks for visiting!

Monogram Birth Announcement

I really wish My Digital Studio had been around when my children were born because it would have been great to have birth announcements like this one. I just love black and white photos, and the one of the little baby feet on this announcement makes me smile. This was such an easy announcement to design. The lines between the photos were created using photo boxes with mats around them and the outside lines for the boxes are not showing because I placed the boxes so that the mats were off the edge of the project canvas. This allowed me to have a consistent size between each photo without a ton of extra work. Then, I just added a couple of stamp images and some text boxes and it was finished. It was that easy. Black & White Wedding Invitation With a Twist

I created a number of sample wedding invitations this summer using My Digital Studio and this is one of them. It's kind of a fun take on the classic black and white invitation. I thought it would be interesting to reverse the black and white to shake things up a little and the pink adds a little bit of a twist to it. I think red would also look pretty sharp with the black and white. What do you think? Thanks for visiting!

Pink and Gray Graduation Invitation

My niece graduated from high school this June and she asked me to design the invitations for her graduation party. Of course I said, "Yes!" She had seen a pink and gray graduation invitation online and liked it, so that's why I chose a pink and gray color scheme for her invitations. She loved the way they came out and I did too! Thanks for visiting!

MDS Prom Page

OK, I'm back with another My Digital Studio project. I created this digital scrapbook page over a year ago, but if you've been following my blog then you know that I was too busy to post it until now. My apologies for the blurred faces; you still get the idea of what the project looks like, so it's all good. I had fun creating this scrapbook page and I gave myself a challenge for this project. Not only did I create a digital version of this, but I also created a traditional, paper version. I haven't completed the paper version yet, as I ran out of rhinestones and need to order some. Once it's finished, I'll post a photo so that you can compare the two projects. Thanks for visiting!

Sweet Scoops Birthday Invitation

Here's another My Digital Studio birthday party invitation. This one was not created for an actual party; it was created simply as a sample for my blog and to show my customers. I thought it looked kind of whimsical and could also be used for an ice cream social invitation. Makes me want some ice cream, but it's a little too early for that. Thanks for visiting!

The 2012 Holiday Mini is Here!

The 2012 Holiday Catalog is available today and I'm so excited about some of the fabulous new products that are in it! I think my favorites are the new stamp sets with matching Framelits dies and the stamp sets with coordinating punches, but there are also some great new trims, fabrics, papers, and so much more! I can't wait to get started on my holiday projects and I know that you'll feel the same way once you've seen what's inside this catalog. It's chock full of ideas and inspiration. I have some more My Digital Studio projects to post, but then I'll be back with some projects using these fun new tools and accessories. Thanks for visiting!

My Digital Studio Invitation for a Special Event

I've been playing around with My Digital Studio quite a bit, making invitations, announcements, party favors, and other projects. I'm really enjoying it!
Last month, my family had a very special celebration when my grandmother turned 90. My mom hosted a surprise party/family reunion and asked me to design the invitations. I have always loved this photograph of my grandmother, so I knew that the invitation would have to include the photo. I designed the invitations using My Digital Studio and they were sized to fit into a business-size envelope. I'm not really sure why I chose the color combo that I used, but I like the end result. Watch for more My Digital Studio projects soon. Thanks for visiting!

No, I didn't disappear...

Life just kind of got in the way this past year. You know how that goes right? I can't believe that it's been a little over a year since my last blog post. I'm so sorry! I know that it's pretty pathetic, but I really have had some good reasons. We have had so much going on in our house during the past 12 months or so, the biggest of which was helping our oldest look at colleges. While I'm glad that the college search process is over, I have to say that it was a fun experience. We got to visit some great places, some of which we'd never seen and some we hadn't visited for a long time. Anyway, once I got busy with college visits, helping to edit essays, and all of the other things that go along with having a child in the process of applying to school, it was difficult to get back into other things (like blogging). I have truly missed it though and I have some fun projects that I will begin posting in the next few days, as well as updating the links for the catalogs and specials (oh my gosh, I'm so bad!), so look for more posts soon.
